At Chenies we strive to encourage children to be curious about the world around them and to help children understand how scientific enquiry can shape future developments that will have an impact on their lives. We want children to question what they see in the natural and man-made world and to use different types of enquiry to answer their own questions. We aim to promote scientific reasoning, questioning, wondering and the ability to find meaning in what is observed.
We follow a two year curriculum cycle across the foundation curriculum, ensuring that children cover all areas of the subject during their 2 years in a class. This ensures all areas of the National Curriculum are covered and embedded.
Whilst our children are taught in a mixed class, different skills are developed in each year group as they progress through the school within each subject.
